Monday 1st March

Good morning and welcome to our last week of home learning! Yay!

Maths

Today, you will need the measurements assessment pack that you have - pages 2 to 6 today.

In this, you will be revisiting a lot of skills that we have already covered. You will need to remember how to:

  • Convert between units of measures (e.g ml, l, m, km, g , kg etc)
  • Converting between km and miles and vice versa
  • Use your problem solving skills
  • Use written methods
  • Show your working out

Don’t forget I have already done some videos about these topics so I will put those underneath too.

Guided Reading

Todays comprehension is about someone you already know something about - Ernest Shackleton. As always with comprehension, make sure you are answering the questions fully and give evidence from the text when you need to.

English

Today you need to watch the final part of Treasure Island. Once you have done this, finish your story map and then complete a book review (the sheet is in you pack). Make sure you include lots of detail about why you recommend the book - use evidence from the text to really impress me!

Creative Learning

On Friday, I asked you to collect some resources - now I shall tell you why!

Now, Treasure Island was all about finding treasure. So today you are going to spend your time using all of the resources you have collected (or anything else you may have at home) to design and make your own treasure chest! You could use papier-mâché to cover a butter tub and then paint it or use a cardboard box and colour it in. You could make the treasure and jewels out of foil or sweet wrappers. I can’t wait to see what you create!

Have a fabulous day, don’t forget to send me your work and let me know if you need any help.

Take care

Miss Hart ☺️
