Over the last few days we have been looking at the Wonders of the World, and specifically The Great Wall of China.

You did some very good research and writing about this impressive landmark.

Today, I would like you to take your writing from Friday and make a final presentation piece.  You could do this with pencils, pens and paper or I have also set a 2Do on Purple Mash in case you want to do it digitally.  Don't forget to hand it in when you are finished.

Here is a very quick video with a couple of top tips in case you are using Purple Mash:

If you are choosing to complete your final piece the traditional way with paper then think about how you are going to make your page look effective.  Can you use block lettering to make a nice title?  What colours might you choose?

Obviously you will use your most wonderful, beautiful and perfect handwriting.

What about an illustration?  Could you draw a great picture of the Great Wall?  Here are a few that might help you (click on one to see a larger version):

I am very much looking forward to seeing what you create!  Have fun!

Your spellings for this week have  ‘ar’ or ‘er endings.

calendar, grammar, regular, particular, peculiar, popular, consider, quarter.

  • Handwriting practise of the new spelling words.
  • Use the following link to find out the definintions (meaning) of the words from your list.

I hope your brains are all switched on for Monday Maths?  Today we are going to be focussing on Multiplication Facts.

Here is a video to get you started:

Maths - Y4 - Mon 11 Jan - Multiplication facts

In your packs you will find a sheet called Mental Recall up to 12 x 12.  I think you will be very good at this and may well whizz through it.

So, here are some more multiplication challenges for you.  I have put a pdf version in case you want to print them out - but you don't have to.  You could answer all the questions with just a pencil and paper:

Your creative home learning today is linked with the English.  Use this time to complete your Great Wall of China picture for your final piece of writing.
