You will need: small items such as beads, coins or buttons, a soft scarf for a blindfold (you could use a sports sweatband if it is soft enough for eyes).
The items need to be small enough for your child to hold several in their hand, but not too small to count. If in doubt try it yourself — just shut your eyes and try to hold and count ten of the objects.
Cover your child’s eyes with the scarf. Place some objects in their hands. Ask them to count the objects. Do it several times making sure that you give them a different quantity each time.
This game takes some getting used to. Some children hate having their eyes covered, so give them plenty of opportunity to do this in play situations first.
