Tuesday 31st March

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a good Monday.  It has been one full week since we began home learning and I am still missing having you all in the classroom.

Cupcake has been keeping herself busy by doing lots of reading.  Have any of you read the book she is reading?

Here are your tasks for today.  Don’t forget to take photos of your work and send them to  I can’t wait to see all of your hard work!

As always you should be reading between 15-20 minutes every day.  If you are running out of books to read at home you can give this website a try. Here you will find free books that you can read online.  If you have got younger brothers or sisters why not read them a story?  I’m sure they will enjoy listening to a story.

Your reading task for today is to read Ned and the Jungle Animals on Purple Mash.  As always complete the activities afterwards.  If you are having trouble using Purple Mash, check the Australia class page for instructions.  Don’t forget to hand your work in when you have finished!

Practice telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes by logging into Purple Mash and completing the telling the time activity that has been set for you.  Remember to count round the clock in 5’s.

Log on to to complete today’s quiz on the four different types of sentences!  Let’s all remember the 4 different types of sentences;

  1. Command
  2. Statement
  3. Question
  4. Exclamation.

Can you think of an example for each?

Using your research from yesterday I would like you to write a report on different types of hats.  Don’t forget to name the hats, what are they made from?  What are they used for?  You can use your notes from yesterday but make sure that in your report you write in full sentences and give lots of detail.

I hope you all had fun creating your Kenya fact file yesterday and now know some really interesting facts about Kenya.  If you have any that you would like to share with me then please email me at

Today I would like you to log on to Purple Mash and create a Safari Animal Fact sheet.  This has been set as a To Do so should be in your alerts when you log on.  Have fun finding out about all the different animals you can see on Safari.

And finally, today’s quote....

No one is perfect, that’s why pencils have rubbers!
