Tuesday 23rd February

Good morning Kenya class.

It was lovely to hear from some of you yesterday.

Thank you to Edward, Nikolai and Mia who asked how my half term was, I had a nice half term thank you, especially when it was so sunny at the weekend. ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning we are going to be doing work which is a bit different from the Man on the Moon work we had been doing as we are going to save some of that until we are back in school together.

This morning for Guided reading, I would like you to choose a book which you enjoy at home. You could read this book to a brother or sister or your grown up. If it is a bit tricky to read yourself you could retell the story from the pictures in the book. Have a talk to whoever you shared the book with when you have finished and ask them what they liked about it. Normally I share a story and ask you about it but today you are going to be the teachers, sharing the book and asking someone else what they thought. If you’d like to share with me the book and who you read to then please do email, I’d love to see your favourite books.

For English this week we are going to be looking at a story called The Cautious Caterpillar. I have created a video of the story so you can listen to it and follow along with the words too.

I would like you to read/listen to the story and then write a few sentences to describe where the story is set. You can just do this on paper, there is no sheet in your packs for this story.

I have created an example for you to help you to understand what to do, you can use the picture to help you. These words will help you too.

For Maths today we are going to be looking at different methods to solve problems. Watch this video to help you complete the sheep sheets in your pack.

Maths - Kenya class

For phonics today please complete this sheet:
In your pack you will have the sheet of paper to create an astronaut, you will have some split pins too to help you make them. You can be as creative as you like, colour the astronaut, you could even put a photo of you on the face to turn you into an astronaut! I can’t wait to see them, the split pins will give you moving arms and legs! When we are back in school you can bring them in with you and we can put them up on display ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐Ÿš€

Have a wonderful day and enjoy the next chapter of The Faraway Tree ๐Ÿ™‚
