Sports

Welcome to the Sports Page for children!  On this page you will find out about the exciting Sporting Events that the children have taken part in throughout the school year. I hope that you enjoying seeing all the Fantastic opportunities that they have been involved with!

This year, has seen the return of children across the school participating in a range of competitive and non-competitive events organised through Kent School Games.

12 Year 5 and 6 children accompanied me to Cobham Hall to participate in the Bob and Barrett cross country event. The race took part in the beautiful grounds at Cobham Hall School. The girls event was 1.74km and the boys was 2km. The children held their own throughout the race and were an asset in their representation of Westcourt. It was tough but you endured!

A selection of children from Year 4 took part in a version of the Highland Games. The children were able to show what they were made of. They worked fantastically and supported each other. A credit to Westcourt!

Highland Games at Cobham Hall

Year 2 went to a Boccia and Kurling Competition at Cobham Hall School. We entered two teams playing against other Schools from Gravesham. What a fantastic morning we had using our sporting skills to play two great games which they took part in so well.

Well done to both teams who showed great sportsmanship throughout.

Boccia and Kurling at Cobham Hall

A selection of students from Year 5 and 6 had an opportunity to try out cheerleading run by sports leaders and the PE department at NFSG. The children had to learn specific moves within Cheerleading which they they had to use to put a routine together for the final part of the session. It was a pleasure to watch the children be fully involved in trying a new skill. Well done to all of you!

Cheerleading at Northfleet School For Girls

9 children from across Year 4-6 took part in a inter school football game against Springhead Park School-whom are in the same trust as us. It was an opportunity for the children at school who play football to showcase their talent. Having never played together, the bonded well and showed off their brilliant team work skills. We look forward to seeing more football in the future!
