Well done to New Zealand class who achieved 96.5% attendance for Term 3 - a big hoorah for NZ class and Mr Trodd!
  • Year 5 Mobile Phone Case DT Project

    Tue 14 Feb 2017

During Term 3, Year 5 have enjoyed working on a DT project where they have all made a slip-in mobile phone cover from felt.  Following the different stages of the design process such as research, investigating materials, designing and making, the children were pleased to be joined by adults and helpers in the old community centre to help with the tricky stitching.

Some really great end products were created and the children were rightfully very proud of their work.  A huge thank you to all parents and carers who were able to come in and support on the day.

Below are just a few of the finished products.  You can see all the finished cases in our gallery page by clicking here.

  • Fantastic Productions!

    Fri 16 Dec 2016

Westcourt School presented two brilliant Christmas productions today.  Early Years presented their Nativity (with the support of children from Year 6) to a packed hall of parents in the morning, and in the afternoon the rest of the school performed the Christmas Production of 'Lights, Camel, Action' - the Christmas story with a Strictly twist!

Well done to all the children for their fantastic singing and dancing and the staff for their hard work in making the whole thing possible.

Next week, we will add some galleries with more pictures - but here are two to get you started!

  • Term 2 Creative Homework

    Tue 13 Dec 2016

The whole school gathered together this afternoon to share in the home learning that has taken place linked to our topics and themes this term.  We saw models of warm bedrooms, Anglo Saxon shields, flag designs for Westcourt School, healthy eating posters, shadow puppets and lovely work about Ancient Greece.  It was obvious that some very hard work had been completed - so thank you to parents and families for your support.

A gallery of images has been added to the Children section, under Gallery.

  • Anti-Bullying Workshops

    Wed 16 Nov 2016

As part of Anti-Bullying Week, the whole school took part in workshops.  The day started with a workshop for parents, and then children from different year groups came together throughout the day to take part in workshops around the theme of being a good friend.

The children made some very thoughtful comments and were able to identify positive approaches to avoiding bullying and thinking of the feelings of others.
