Phase 2 build: end of week 2
Sun 16 Jun 2019As you know the phase 2 build of the school has begun. Many thank to everyone for the way in which you are coming into school. We know it is a narrow pathway so we appreciate the care you are all taking. Below are some pictures of what is happening behind all the fencing. We are really excited about the changes that will happen over the coming weeks! One of the children described it as 'The school is having an upgrade!'.

Times Tables Rock Stars Day!
Fri 24 May 2019Today the whole school had fantastic fun. Not only did we get to dress up as Rock Stars, we also got to practice our times tables in lots of different ways. We are all getting so good at them now. Rock on!

Key Stage Two Creative Homework
Thu 23 May 2019Everyone enjoyed looking at the Key Stage Two creative homework in assembly today. There was work about Anglo Saxons, Space and creative "upcycling" of things that would otherwise be thrown away. It was lovely to find out about some of personal interests and passions of our Year 6 children too. Once again, thank you to all parents and family members who helped with these lovely pieces of work.

Year 3 Eco Bags
Thu 23 May 2019Year 3 have had a very busy term as part of their Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! topic. After learning about the problems with plastic bags, the children designed and made reusable ECO bags. After carefully sewing the sides, they used special fabric paint to make an eye-catching design. In music, the children even made jingles to advertise their bags.

Creative Homework - Years 1 and 2
Wed 22 May 2019Everyone enjoyed seeing the Year 1 and Year 2 creative homework in assembly today. There were robot models, robot pictures and artwork with the theme of light and dark. There were even a couple of shadow puppet theatres! Well done everyone, and thank you to all the parents, carers and family members who helped at home. Dance Workshops!
Fri 03 May 2019Today we were very lucky to have Emily come and visit to complete dance workshops with all the children. They were great fun! Look out for a new after-school dance club in the future!

New Westcourt Logo!

In January the school launched it new strap line, learn, aspire, achieve.
As part of the work in school we have designed a new logo to reflect our values and aims. The children were very excited in assembly yesterday when it was revealed. One child said that the logo was like us ‘When we come to school we grow like a seed does. We leave strong and beautiful!’ What a fantastic response to their time of learning at Westcourt.
The new logo will gradually be rolled out over the next year. We do have plans for it to go onto our uniform. When we have details of this we will let you know. However, you will not be required to replace any current uniform that you have.

Creative Homework for Term 4
Fri 05 Apr 2019Over the last couple of days we have enjoyed looking at the creative homework that has been completed this term. There was work about London, the UK, World War I, Plants and Volcanoes. Here are some photos of the fantastic work created (Thank you to Mrs Outred for the photos!).

Fri 05 Apr 2019Thank you to all the parents and children that came to the Usborne book fair yesterday. Due to the huge amount of books that you purchased, the school has been given £105 to spend on additional books for our library! Thank you so much!
