World Book Day!
Good morning all, I hope you are having a lovely day so far. I am loving all of your pictures that you are sending to me. Keep them coming throughout the day and I will keep uploading them on here!
Tuesday 2nd March
We have more AR stars this morning. Well done to Marley, Railey and Aleena! Head over to our AR stars page to see your names π
Monday 1st March
Good morning all - can you believe we are in March already?
On Thursday this week, it is World book day. Although we will not be together, we will still be celebrating. As a school, we will all be using the same book - I will leave that to your teachers to tell you about! However, we would still like you to dress up as a book character if you are able to. Send your photos to me and Miss Sexton and I will decide on the best 3 costumes and there will be a prize for you when you come back into school. Also, you will get your World Book Day tokens when you come back into school so that you can get a free book or use it towards a book of your choosing.
Can’t wait to see what you dress up as!
Stay safe

AR Targets
Some of you have met your AR targets already which is amazing. So far Swettha and Diljot have met their targets. Go and have a look on the AR stars page to see your star there. Well done to you both!
Monday 22nd February
Good morning all - I hope you all had a lovely half term.
I will be setting all of your AR targets for the term today so if you want to complete a STAR reading test today to increase your ZPD then please do and let me know. I know some of you have done this already. As you have all been doing so well at meeting your targets, I will be making sure they are very hard! So get reading!
Harriet - I loved seeing all of the things you have been up to over the half term. I am very jealous as whenever I go to Cobham Mausoleum, I can never find the cows! You will have to give me some tips on how to find them. They look very friendly as you were able to get so close to them!
Leon - I hope you enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year. I love your lion-dog. He is very cute!
Freya - Your cakes looked amazing, where did you find the recipe for them?
I hope you enjoy your first day of home learning after half term and make sure you start reading straight away to meet those AR targets.
Stay safe

Thursday 11th February
Good morning all and welcome to the last day of term. Who was surprised to see even more snow this morning - I know I was!
James and Jessica - Was lovely to see you this morning and I thought James was very loud. Maybe I will see Katelyn on my way back after school!
Well done to the following people who have met their AR target this term: Marley, Abdul, Annabelle, Anastasia and Nate. You are all now on the AR stars page.
If you would like to do another Star reading test today, I can then change all of your ZPD’s and set you new targets for after half term.
Most importantly, have a lovely half term. You have all been working very hard so take a much needed rest. Lets finish the term in true Westcourt style!
Some amazing marble games created by the Key worker children in school
Beautiful drawings completed by the children in school
Tuesday 9th February
Safer Internet Day
Good morning all and welcome to Safer Internet Day 2021. The theme for this year is
‘An internet we trust:exploring reliability in the online world’
All of you will be doing some work around this theme today; there is also and assembly for you to watch. Please make sure you pick the right one for you (these are on your class pages too!)
I look forward to seeing the work that you are going to be doing today. Also, here is some information for your parents about safer internet day. Maybe they can do your learning with you today as they would normally do in school.
I hope you have fun learning about what you find on the internet and I cant wait to see lots of your work that you have been doing.
Enjoy your day and stay safe

Happy Thursday to you all and I hope you are all well.
A big congratulations to the following children who have none met their AR target and will be on our AR stars page:Saisha, Harry R, Diljot, Harry D and Jack.
Also, a huge thank you to some children who have donated their old books to the school. Sienna, Austen and Charlotte and William - thank you so much for this, I am working hard to get them all onto AR and labelled up for where we are back in school.
Simra your word of the week definition was superb and beautifully presented - I will put it up on Friday so that it does not give the game away to anyone else.
Finally, a big thank you to Alesha and Bella who have done me some beautiful drawings for my office - they are great!
Take care
Miss Hart π₯Έ
Thank you girls! π
Tuesday 26th January
Good morning all, I hope you are well.
Well done to Kye who has also met his AR target now - you can see your star on the AR stars page. At the moment, Australia and Mexico classes are leading the way with the most children who have met their target, lets see if another class can catch them up!
Aleshaβs story
As promised Alesha, here is the continuation to your story.
I expected to see my family there but instead there was a different group of people. I was very cold (don’t forget I didn’t have any shoes on and it is very chilly outside at the moment) so I looked for the radiator to warm myself on. Instead all I could see was a raging fire in the middle of the cave. “Where am I? Who are you?” I asked in fear, starting to become fearful that I might never see my family again.
I hope you like this Alesha, let me know what you think!
Take care everyone!
Miss Hart π

So our word of the week for this week is

Word of the week
Thursday 21st January
Good morning all, I hope you are having a lovely week! Let's hope it is not as windy and wet today!
More of you have been meeting your AR targets. Well done to the following children: Maya, Sophia-Maria, Aarya and Tasha - look out for your names on the AR stars page later on today.
Thank you so much to Grace and Leon for your definitions of the word of the week - I won't put them up until the end of the day on Friday so that we don't give it away to any other children who are going to have a go at this.
If you have any suggestions for next weeks word do let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you today.
Take care
Miss Hart
Tuesday 19th January
Good morning to you all, hope you had a lovely Monday!
James - I have removed the quiz you did on your sisters account! Good effort on a very difficult book though!
Harriet - You are very fit, it was impressive that you were able to keep up with your pony for nearly 15 minutes!
Georgia - I loved looking at your science experiments - I am quite jealous as I would like to do one!
Don’t forget, if you are wanting to do a quiz on a book that is not on Myon, this is the link that you need to use
https://ukhosted36.renlearn.co.uk
Well done to Marcin, Arden, Edward and Tessa - you have all met you AR targets now and will be on the AR stars page.
Have a lovely day and speak to you tomorrow

Monday 18th January
Good morning to you all and I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Just to let you know, I have the AR Stars page up and running again. Lots of you have already met your targets and your names are now shown on this page. You should go and have a look to see which class is doing the best so far. If you have already met your targets, I will make them more challenging to see if you can meet them again. I am so impressed with how much reading you are doing. Let me know if there are any books you have read that you think I should try reading.
As promised, we are going to start work of the week again. So, our word for this week is
dither
As always, let me know what you think this means and try to use it in a sentence. I will share the answer with you at the end of the week and give you an example of my own. I shall also set myself a challenge to see if I can set up a word of the week page. That way I can share all of your ideas on there!
Keep working hard and stay safe

Wednesday 13th January
Good morning all, it’s good to be back up and running again! Later on today I will put up a video to have a chat with you a bit more but just wanted to respond to those of you that have emailed me already.
Leon - I am amazed at how good your piano playing has become; you must me practicing a lot. What was that piece called? And yes, I love your new glasses, they make you look very grown up!
Freya - I’m not promising anything but Miss Kitchener and I will see what we can do!
Jack - I am glad you and your mum are enjoying my videos, I really enjoyed the video you sent me - it made me laugh a lot!
Sienna - I learnt a lot reading your information about The Great Pyramid of Giza. Using work you did earlier in the week isn’t cheating - it is very sensible!
I look forward to hearing from you all and stay tuned for a video later in the day
