Easter Holiday 2024 - Provision of Free School Meal Vouchers

Funding has been set for the provision of Easter Holiday 2024 free school meal vouchers at £20 per eligible child, for the two week holiday.  Vouchers have been scheduled to be sent week commencing Tuesday 2nd April 2024.  If you apply once school is closed, you will not receive the voucher for the Easter Holidays.  If you apply and your child is in our Nursery, you will not receive a voucher as they are not in full time education.

If you have any queries, please speak to Karen in the office.  Thank you.

SCHOOL MEALS

All our meals are prepared fresh on-site each day by our Kitchen Team, led by Mark Wade.  As well as the hot meal choices, children also have the choice of the salad bar.  The cost of school meals are £2.60 daily, £13.00 weekly, which are payable in advance using your online SIMS Pay account.  Children in classes R to year 2 receive the universal free school meal.  Children in years 3 to 6 have to pay for meals through their child's School Money online account, unless you qualify for free school meals.

Please note that the menu on Thursday 28th March will be the Friday's menu choice instead.  Thank you.

Please note that due to deliveries, the kitchen may occasionally have to change meals at short notice.  If this happens, the meal substituted will be from the menus advertised.

Free School Meals & Universal Free School Meals

If you think you could qualify for free school meals, you will need to make a direct application using the government website www.kent.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals  Your eligibility will be checked and your application processed straight away, you will be informed of the decision immediately.  If your application is successful, the school will be notified by email and your child will start receiving their free school meal.

Universal free school meals are for children in years Reception to year 2.  This entitles your child to a free meal whilst in school until they finish in year 2.  We encourage all parents/carers to apply online, regardless of the year group your child is in.

Please see the government kent.gov website for more information (as above).
