Free School Meal Vouchers - May Half Term 2023
For each child that is eligible on the free school meal list as of Thursday 25th May 2023, will receive a £10 food voucher during half term. If you apply for your child after this date, they will not receive a voucher during the May half term holiday.
Please ensure you download the voucher promptly upon receipt of your email as the system will un-assign vouchers that have not been claimed. Thank you.
SCHOOL MEALS
All our meals are prepared fresh on-site each day by our Kitchen Team, led by Mark Wade. As well as the hot meal choices, children also have the choice of the salad bar. The cost of school meals are £2.40 daily, £12.00 weekly, which are payable in advance using your online SIMS Pay account. Children in classes R to year 2 receive the universal free school meal. Children in years 3 to 6 have to pay for meals through their child's School Money online account, unless you qualify for free school meals.
Menus for Term 5

Free School Meals & Universal Free School Meals
If you think you could qualify for free school meals, you will need to make a direct application using the government website www.kent.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals Your eligibility will be checked and your application processed straight away, you will be informed of the decision immediately. If your application is successful, the school will be notified by email and your child will start receiving their free school meal.
Universal free school meals are for children in years Reception to year 2. This entitles your child to a free meal whilst in school until they finish in year 2. We encourage all parents/carers to apply online, regardless of the year group your child is in.
Please see the government kent.gov website for more information (as above).
If you have any queries, please contact the school office and speak to Karen. Many thanks.
Energy vouchers for free school meal families - issued by KCC
We have been receiving lots of enquiries in school regarding the scheme, hopefully below will help in answering these:
Parents asking what the voucher is for?
This is from Kent County Council as part of the Household Support Fund to assist parents in paying their utility bills. This is only for families who are eligible for free school meals, not the universal free school meal scheme.
How do I use the cash-out voucher monies towards by bill?
The cash can then be used to top up a pre-payment meter or paid into the bank to cover direct debit or bills when received.
Parents advising that their vouchers are 'processing' or 'pending'.
The vouchers can take up to 72 hours to come through. If after this period, you do not receive a code please check spam or junk boxes on your email. If you have still not received, you should contact: support@evouchers.com
Accessing vouchers for HAF
The parent will need to click on the link received and create their account. They will then have access to their 16 digit code to book onto activities. support@evouchers.com so we can resend their redeem link.
If the parent is still having troubles, please ask them to email
